Members of Parliament on the R15 000 (estimated - Portfolio Committee for Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment were hosted by game drives) the Wilderness Foundation Africa under the banner of the South African Legislators for the Environment (SALE) in the Eastern Cape from 24-27 September 2024. This included a visit by boat to St Croix Island to see the African Penguin colony and visits to private reserves. MPs were treated to a series of lectures on South African environmental legislation and associated issues. The group stayed at Amakhala Game Reserve. I was further hosted for a day by Indalo Group to inspect prospective wind farms sites in the area.
